The Gifted Child: Bringing Love Back Home

Introduction: Fred Wood, a retired general, takes a job as a construction site security guard while searching for Mona's real mother. When Mona uncovers a group of thieves on the site, she inadvertently wakes Fred, who scolds her in return. During a routine inspection, Mona realizes that Sally Jepsen is her mother, though Fred remains skeptical. Meanwhile, Paul Jepsen pressures Sally into marrying Tate Ward to benefit her ailing grandfather. A mix-up leads them to believe Fred and Mona are Sally's husband and daughter from seven years ago. After chasing off the intruders, Mona insists on following Sally when she tries to leave. Fred reluctantly agrees and later helps save Hugh Jepsen's life. To escape a forced marriage, Sally offers Fred a large sum to pretend to be her husband. At the banquet, Fred steps in when Paul bullies Mona, saving her from further harm in a fit of rage.
