This critically acclaimed mini-series, "The Billionaire's Granddaughter," has earned a sizable following (being favorited by 71.9k people) and its 101 episodes are screaming for you to check them out!
Plot of The Billionaire's Granddaughter
Li Ge has been married to Huo Jingcheng for three years and has had to endure his humiliations and expletives while still being madly in love with him. They got hitched at his grandmother's request, though Jincheng obviously was not pleased by this, having harbored feelings for Qiao Xiyun, who was compelled to live abroad for five years.
Ge herself was hesitant to acquiesce to Grandma's wishes because she didn't want to push Jincheng into a relationship he didn't want and, what's more, she had her own boutique to look after. Notwithstanding, when Grandma explained the dire situation that the Huo Group was facing and how important was for Jincheng to be married in order to stabilize the situation, Ge yielded.
But things started to really go downhill after she almost got killed during a disastrous plane crash on her way back from a forced business trip in Dubai. In fact, in the same hospital where she was receiving treatment, Jincheng was coincidentally bringing Xiyun for a prenatal checkup. That's when Ge learned that he was having an affair this whole time!
Jincheng reminded Ge that he had known Xiyun for almost 20 years and, furthermore, he stressed that she had no right to recriminate him because she was "dirty." and that she schemed the whole situation so that the two would end up married. After much thought, Ge realized the best course of action was to procure a divorce and return home. But once Li Ge returned all the gifts he gave her and relinquished all her rights, Jincheng started feeling some semblance of remorse. Would this signal a change of heart on his end?
Main Characters in The Billionaire's Granddaughter
Li Ge comes from an extremely wealthy family but she's also earnest to make her own money without reliance on her parents' net worth. Aside from being highly self-sufficient, she's also extremely good-willed and selfless, to the point where she's inclined to give up her successful career to save the Huo family. However, this would cause her innumerable problems, not the least of which is to be joined in marriage with a guy who not only doesn't love her but treats her with utter disdain.
Visually speaking, she has an extraordinarily cute profile, with well-defined facial features and an elegant posture, even under stress.
Jincheng is a tall and handsome CEO whose success is only matched by his arrogance and stubbornness. He hardly smiles or displays feelings other than anger or indignation. However, deep beneath his hardened "shell," there's a man with lots of insecurities and repressed feelings. Part of his frustration stems from not being able to be with the girl he has loved since childhood, albeit that attitude would soon end.
Xiyun looks like a very sweet and innocent young girl, but that's all a facade. Behind that naive look, you'll discover a venomous viper with a master's degree in manipulation and deceit. Likewise, she won't hesitate to do serious harm to people she considers her enemy, just because they get in the way of her true love.
Physically, Xiyun is breathtakingly beautiful and has a slender build, though she doesn't hold a candle to Ge's external (and internal) beauty.
Grandma (as she's simply referred to) is the person in charge of setting all the events of this mini-series in motion. Even though she's not linked biologically to Ge, she treats her as her own grandmother and doesn't hesitate to side with her whenever her son behaves like a prick towards her.
